Decking Renovations & Caravan Cleaning

Some jobs are just Necessary.

Throughout this season, Necessary Co. has completed a number of decking renovation projects and exterior caravan cleans across holiday parks and residential sites in the North East. These projects require a careful and controlled approach to avoid surface damage while achieving a clean, restored finish.

Decking Renovation Process

Timber decking requires a low-pressure and treatment-led approach. Excessive pressure can permanently damage timber fibres, leave surface marks, and reduce the lifespan of the wood. Our process includes:

  • Application of specialist cleaning chemicals to break down algae, dirt, and organic growth
  • Soft washing using a fan-tip lance at controlled pressure levels
  • Treatment with oxalic acid to help restore colour and brighten the timber
  • Two coats of premium-grade decking oil for protection and long-term appearance

This process restores the natural appearance of the timber while helping to protect it against weathering and future organic growth.

Caravan Exterior Cleaning

Holiday caravans and lodges are cleaned using specialist low pressure systems designed to safely remove dirt, algae, and weather staining without damaging the exterior surfaces. Our caravan cleaning process includes:

  • Gentle low-pressure washing
  • Specialist chemical treatment to break down contamination
  • Biocide application to help prevent future algae regrowth
  • Careful rinsing and detailing around trims, windows, gutters, and decking areas

For more heavily contaminated units, specialist long-reach roof cleaning systems are sometimes used to safely treat difficult areas from the ground.

Project Outcome

These projects demonstrate Necessary Co.’s focus on careful exterior cleaning methods, professional presentation, and long-term maintenance solutions. Whether restoring timber decking, cleaning holiday lodges, or carrying out specialist exterior treatments, the emphasis remains on achieving high-quality results while protecting the surfaces being worked on.
